In an effort to remain transparent I have the following information to share.
A series of concerning emails, allegedly from a Russian terrorist organization, have been sent to school districts across Ohio, threatening violence with explosive devices within schools. These threats mirror similar incidents that occurred in Texas school districts last Friday, which were investigated and found to be non-credible.
According to assessments from the Ohio Homeland Security (OHS) Terrorism Analysis Unit (TAU) and the Statewide Terrorism Analysis & Crime Center (STACC), the emails appear to be part of a swatting campaign or hoaxes, with no credible threat detected.
We will continue to share information with you as we feel necessary. We will also remain alert to similar threats and respond appropriately.
Late this afternoon multiple schools across the state of Ohio received an anonymous bomb threat via email. Hicksville Schools was among one of the schools. In an effort to be transparent with all of our parents and employees we are sending this notification. We have worked with the police and fire department and searched the entire building. Nothing suspicious was found. School will operate on a normal schedule Monday, December 11, 2023.
